➜ Solar Panels
SOLAR PANELS IN
Panels here produce most at roughly 26 degrees of tilt facing true south, dropping near 11 degrees in summer. Battery Power supplies solar panels in , and throughout Lake County and Tavares, from 50W rigid monocrystalline modules to 200W rigid solar modules and foldable 100W kits. Licensed and insured, controllers matched to array voltage, fusing planned, sizing help free.

SUNLIGHT IS THE CHEAPEST INPUT FL HAS.
A solar panel is the easy part of a solar system. The hard part is everything downstream: the controller that regulates panel voltage into the battery bank, the fuse on the positive lead, the cable gauge, and the inverter that turns stored direct current into 120V AC. Get those wrong and a perfectly good array underperforms for years without anybody noticing.
So we start at the other end. Tell us what you actually run in a day, the coffee maker, the fridge, the well pump, and we work backward to watt rating, storage capacity and controller type.
- Rigid, flexible and foldable panels for roofs, curved surfaces and portable rigs
- MPPT and PWM charge controllers matched to your panel and battery voltage
- Cable, MC4 connector and fusing guidance for series or parallel wiring
- Battery bank pairing so the array charges something worth charging
➜ SOLAR PANELS
PANELS MATCHED TO CONTROLLERS AND STORAGE.
Three components decide whether an off-grid solar setup works. Panels collect direct current, a charge controller regulates that voltage down to what the battery bank can safely accept, and the bank stores it until you need it. A PWM controller is the simpler choice when panel voltage sits close to battery voltage, generally under about 400 watts of array. Above that, or when panel voltage runs much higher, an MPPT controller harvests noticeably more.
THE SUNSHINE STATE EARNS ITS NAME HERE.
Central FL gives solar an unusually forgiving climate. Long summer days, high sun angles and mild winters mean a modest roof-mount array earns its keep year-round, and hurricane season makes stored power something more than a hobby. RV owners in The Villages, cabin and workshop owners around Lake County, and boaters in Tavares all run panels here. Heat does cut panel output slightly, which is why airflow behind the frame matters.
WE SIZE ARRAYS AROUND REAL DAILY CONSUMPTION.
Watt ratings are printed under laboratory conditions that nobody lives in. Over years behind this counter we have learned to plan on real production, real shading and real cloudy afternoons, then leave headroom. Owner Eric Couture would rather send you home with an honest number than an optimistic one. We ask about appliances, runtimes and how long you need to ride out an outage. What good is an array that runs short every third day?

➜ WHAT WE SUPPLY
OUR SOLAR PANEL RANGE
Six categories cover nearly every project that reaches us, from a single portable panel keeping a trailer battery topped off to a permanent off-grid bank feeding an inverter through the night.
RIGID
Rigid Monocrystalline Panels
Framed glass modules in 50W, 100W and 200W sizes handle permanent installations best. Tempered glass and an aluminum frame survive wind load and weather, and monocrystalline cells hold the highest efficiency per square foot of mounting surface.
FLEXIBLE
Flexible and Portable Panels
Bendable thin-film construction follows a curved RV or boat roof where a rigid frame cannot sit flat. Foldable 100W kits do the opposite job, packing into a bag with a carry handle and integrated connectors for camping and emergency use.
MOBILE
RV and Camper Solar Systems
Roof space on a camper is finite, so every watt has to earn its place. We plan RV solar panel layouts around vent locations and air conditioner shadows, then integrate the controller with existing converter wiring rather than fighting it.
OFF-GRID
Off-Grid Cabin and Shed Systems
Workshops, sheds and hunting cabins never see a utility bill, which changes the math. Sizing starts with the daily load in watt-hours, then adds panels, storage and an inverter big enough for the largest surge, usually a pump or compressor.
CONTROLLERS
Charge Controllers and Wiring
Regulation stands between your panels and an expensive mistake. PWM units suit small low-voltage arrays, MPPT controllers pull more from higher-voltage strings, and both need properly sized cable and a fuse on every positive lead before commissioning.
STORAGE
Battery Bank Pairing
Panels without storage only work while the sun does. Series wiring raises voltage, parallel wiring raises current, and the bank you choose sets which arrangement makes sense along with the controller and inverter you pair with it.

Excellent Service and Support
Exemplary service! Amicable, punctual, overall went well.

➜ THE WORD ON OUR WORK
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY.
What we hear most from solar customers is that we asked questions before quoting anything. People arrive expecting a panel recommendation and leave with a whole system plan, including wiring, fusing and storage. Owner Eric Couture built the shop around that conversation.
➜ Common Questions
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Below are the solar questions we answer most often at the counter, covering sizing, controllers, wiring, tilt angle, weather performance and panel construction. Bring your appliance list and we will work through yours.
How many solar panels do I need to charge a 100Ah battery?
Roughly 200W to 300W of panel will recharge a 12V 100Ah battery from half empty in a single good day. Fewer watts still work, they simply take longer and leave less margin on overcast days.
Do solar panels work on cloudy days?
Yes, though output falls sharply. Cells convert diffuse light as well as direct beams, so an overcast sky typically yields somewhere between 10% and 25% of rated production. Design storage capacity around those days rather than the sunny ones.
What is the difference between MPPT and PWM charge controllers?
Efficiency and price. PWM controllers simply switch panel voltage down and suit arrays under roughly 400 watts where panel and battery voltage are close. MPPT controllers actively convert excess voltage into extra charging current instead.
Should solar panels be wired in series or parallel?
Series raises system voltage while current stays the same, which suits long cable runs and MPPT controllers. Parallel keeps voltage constant and increases available amperage, which suits PWM setups and arrays where partial shading is likely.
What angle should solar panels be set at in FL?
Around 26 degrees works well year-round at this latitude, adjusting toward 11 degrees in summer and 41 degrees in winter. Battery Power sets panels facing true south for customers in Leesburg, FL, because orientation matters more than perfect tilt.
How long do solar panels last?
Expect 25 to 30 years of useful production from a quality framed monocrystalline panel, with output declining slowly the whole time. Flexible thin-film panels generally have shorter service lives because their laminate takes more abuse from heat and flexing.
Are flexible solar panels as good as rigid ones?
Not quite, and that is a fair trade. Flexible panels weigh less, mount on curves, and keep a low profile, but rigid glass modules deliver better efficiency, better cooling airflow and considerably longer life on a fixed mount.
Why buy solar panels from you instead of ordering a kit online?
Because a box of parts is not a system. Battery Power sizes the array, controller, fusing and battery bank together in Leesburg, FL, checks connector compatibility, and stays available when you expand the array later.
