How long do lithium batteries last?
Roughly 10 years of normal use is realistic, because quality LiFePO4 cells deliver up to 4,000 cycles to 80% state of health. Lead-acid deep-cycle units manage 200 to 500 cycles over the same duty.
What is the difference between LiFePO4 and lithium-ion?
LiFePO4 is one lithium-ion chemistry, built with iron phosphate cathodes instead of cobalt blends. It trades a little energy density for much better thermal stability and cycle life, which is why storage and traction packs favor it.
Is a lithium battery a true drop-in replacement?
