➜ Golf Cart Lithium Battery Conversions

A LiFePO4 pack is rated for 4,000 cycles at 80% state of health, where a flooded set manages 200 to 500. Battery Power performs golf cart lithium battery conversion in Leesburg, FL, and across The Villages and Sumter County, on Club Car, EZ-GO, Yamaha, Icon and Evolution carts. Licensed and insured, chargers verified and matched, old lead-acid sets recycled free.

LEAD ACID SETS ASK FOR A LOT IN RETURN.

Six flooded batteries under a cart seat are a standing appointment. Water them monthly, clean the corrosion off the terminals, equalize them, and watch the cart get slower as the pack drains, because lead-acid voltage sags hard through the back half of every charge. Then replace all six together in 2 to 5 years, whether you drove daily or barely at all.

Lithium changes the terms. One sealed case, no watering, no acid creep, and flat voltage that pulls the same on the last hill as the first. The trade is that the electrical details have to be right.

  • 36-volt and 48-volt LiFePO4 packs fitted, wired and fused in-house
  • Charger compatibility confirmed or replaced before the cart leaves
  • Tray, hold-down and cable routing adapted to the new pack footprint
  • Old lead-acid sets removed and recycled at no charge

➜ GOLF CART LITHIUM BATTERY CONVERSIONS

ONE PACK REPLACES SIX BATTERIES AND A ROUTINE.

Nameplate voltage and actual voltage are different numbers with lithium. A 48-volt cart takes a 51.2-volt pack, a 36-volt cart takes 38.4 volts, and a 72-volt cart takes 76.8 volts. A 105Ah case at 51.2 volts stores 5,376 watt-hours in roughly the space of two flooded batteries, and it runs about 70% lighter than the set it replaces. That weight leaves the cart and the difference shows immediately.

VILLAGES CARTS RUN HARD AND STORE LONG.

Carts here are transportation, not weekend toys. A Villages resident may cover 20 miles in an afternoon between the square, the course and the grocery run, then park the cart for 3 months while the heat sits at 95 degrees. Flooded batteries hate both halves of that pattern. Lithium tolerates partial charging, sits through storage without sulfating, and does not boil water away in a hot garage.

CONVERSIONS LIVE OR DIE ON THE CHARGER.

A drop-in pack is only half the job. Feed it a lead-acid charge profile and the battery management system will keep cutting the charge short, and you will blame the pack for something the charger caused. In  years we have seen that mistake more than any other. We verify charger output, connector type and algorithm before we call a conversion finished. Why buy range you cannot actually charge?

➜ WHAT WE FIT

OUR LITHIUM CONVERSION WORK

Every conversion moves through the same six checks, whatever badge is on the cart. Voltage first, then capacity, protection, charging, physical fitment, and a road test before the keys go back.

VOLTAGE

36-Volt and 48-Volt Pack Options

Count the batteries under the seat before anything else. Six 6-volt units means a 36-volt cart and a 38.4-volt pack, while six 8-volt units means a 48-volt cart wanting 51.2 volts nominal.

CAPACITY

Amp-Hour and Range Sizing

How far you drive decides the amp-hour figure. A 105Ah pack covers most neighborhood duty comfortably, while a 173Ah option suits long daily mileage, lifted carts on bigger tires, or anyone who hates thinking about charge level.

PROTECTION

Battery Management System Integration

Every pack ships with a battery management system guarding against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit and high temperature. We confirm it communicates properly with the cart, and we set up app monitoring where the pack supports it.

CHARGING

Charger Replacement and Compatibility

Charging is where conversions fail. We measure existing charger output, check the connector and algorithm, and supply a lithium charger when the old unit cannot deliver a correct profile. Opportunity charging becomes safe once that is settled.

FITMENT

Tray Adaptation and Weight Redistribution

Removing the bulk of the old pack weight from the rear changes how a cart sits. Trays get adapted, hold-downs get rebuilt, and cables get re-routed so nothing shifts, chafes or hangs low over a speed bump.

TESTING

Post-Conversion Testing and Support

Nothing leaves without a loaded test. Voltage under acceleration, charge acceptance, state-of-charge reporting and hold-down security all get checked, and we stay reachable afterward when the first questions come up.

➜ THE WORD ON OUR WORK

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY.

Cart owners tell us the conversion was explained honestly before any work started, including what lithium would not fix. They mention the charger conversation specifically, because most had not considered it. Owner Eric Couture keeps every job in-house for that reason.

➜ Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

These are the conversion questions we hear weekly, covering value, difficulty, voltage options, range, speed, charging habits and cart compatibility. Bring the cart in and we will walk through yours.

  • Is it worth converting a golf cart to lithium?

Usually yes for anyone who drives regularly, because a LiFePO4 pack rated at 4,000 cycles outlives several flooded sets and removes watering entirely. Occasional drivers with a healthy lead-acid set should wait until replacement time.

  • Not much harder than a normal battery replacement when the kit matches the cart. The real differences are parallel wiring to a busbar instead of series, correct fusing, secure mounting, and a charger that speaks lithium.

Not much harder than a normal battery replacement when the kit matches the cart. The real differences are parallel wiring to a busbar instead of series, correct fusing, secure mounting, and a charger that speaks lithium.

  • Can a 36-volt golf cart be converted to lithium?

Yes, 36-volt carts convert readily using a 38.4-volt nominal pack in 105Ah capacity. Older 36-volt carts sometimes have tired controllers and solenoids, so those get inspected first, since a new pack will expose weak components.

  • How far will a lithium golf cart go on one charge?

Most conversions land between 25 and 50 miles, depending on terrain, tire size, load and how heavy your right foot is. Flat neighborhood driving reaches the top of that band, and hills pull it down.

  • Does a lithium conversion make a golf cart faster?

Slightly, and it feels like more. Top speed is set by the controller and motor, but shedding roughly 70% of the pack weight sharpens acceleration and hill climbing, and steady voltage keeps that performance until charge runs low.

  • Can I leave a lithium golf cart battery plugged in?

Partial charging causes no harm, so plugging in after every round is fine. Still, leaving any charger connected for weeks serves no purpose. For long storage, park the pack near half charge and disconnect.

  • Will a lithium pack fit my Club Car, EZ-GO or Yamaha?

Often yes, since packs are built for standard 36-volt, 48-volt and 72-volt configurations. Battery Power measures the compartment in Leesburg, FL and confirms fitment on Club Car, EZ-GO, Yamaha, Icon, Advanced EV and Evolution carts.

  • Why choose you for a golf cart lithium conversion?

Because we do the whole job ourselves. Battery Power converts carts in-house at our Leesburg, FL counter, verifies charger compatibility, adapts the tray, tests under load, and recycles your lead-acid set free.
